The Design Files Awards 2019

We are so proud to announce MILOU MILOU has been shortlisted for The Design Files Awards this year, in the Sustainable Design category.

We aim to be transparent in our own business and retail processes, and continue to drive change in supply and manufacture. We are plastic free and minimal waste - ideally all waste is compostable. Shipping to you is always carbon offset, and we contribute to the planting of trees to offset our import miles.

Crucially, our concept is centred in considerate shopping, encouraging our customers to take more time in their selections, and treasuring the pieces that are made only to order. We hold no stock aside from small sample lengths of our shades.

We know this market is competitive, and margins are tight. We know we aren't the cheapest bedding. We have a clear drive for quality, durability, and above all giving our customers the control over their own bedding palette. Made to order bedding reduces the problematic format of bulk production, where commonly workers bear the brunt of corporate margins and needing to sell ageing stock on sale.
